Please note the invitation below to participate in dialogue with the Glooscap First Nation Elders and engage with the artists as they share their knowledge, experiences and celebrate their culture. Take the time for dialogue that leads to better understanding.

The Glooscap First Nations, the ASU and Acadia University are excited to share that we hosting a Mawio’mi in collaboration with the Town of Wolfville during the first week of October. In addition to the amazing activities and ceremonies taking place over the course of the Mawio’mi, we will be unveiling the Truth Before Reconciliation Mural that is currently being co-created on campus at Acadia by renowned Mi’kmaw artist Gerald Gloade and local Indigenous youth leader Lily-Beth Fisher. Each Friday until October, members of Acadia and the Wolfville community are invited to come and engage with the artists as they paint the mural as well as Elders from the surrounding Indigenous communities. In the beautiful KCIC Garden Room we have created a space for students to speak with Elders about reconciliation and climate action, and to gather the wisdom and knowledge from their many stories.
